NUS History Society Welfare Giveaway 2015/2016 Sem 1

You might have 3 essays to submit, 2 midterm exams to take and 1 presentation to rehearse for, but do not fret! HISSOC is here with you through it all; from making each study session less painful with Axe Oil, to making your cravings for cup noodles go away. That is we are here once again with our semesterly Welfare Giveaway, marking the first event organised by the 51th HISSOC committee.

Taking place last Tuesday to Thursday, our welfare director, Vina, together with the HISSOC committee, stationed at the walkway along AS1 to give out the welfare packs to our HY and EU majors, as well as our freshmen taking the respective intro modules. Thank you Vina once again for the hard work and time spent on taking care of the History community!

The welfare giveaway was wildly popular, with packs flying off AS1 in the first 2 days and all our packs were finally given out on the last day. To those who missed the welfare pack distribution, better luck next semester!

Finally, what’s a welfare giveaway without the sale of our History identity shirts!  As one of the most popular Arts shirts in FASS, we managed to get hold of enough stock for distribution! Sales of the shirts were brisk too, and if any of you still want to purchase them, do contact us on our Facebook or approach our Exco members.

It’s not students alone who needs welfare, but our wonderful History Department as well! It was great getting together with our professors and administrative staff while showing them gratitude for their hard work and concern. While Assoc Prof Wang Jianli jovially talked about how we seemed to be giving out welfare benefits like a nanny state, it is all for a good cause in our History family of course :) (good one Prof haha!)

Stay tuned on both our Facebook page and website to find out about our upcoming events/activities!
